French number / Multiplication Tables Practice This unit contains:- · Practice sheets (in French) of all the multiplication tables from 2 to 10. A sheet can distributed to the class as a whole or can be differentiated according to ability. Marking includes pupils having to read the question and answer in French. · A group card game involving multiplication tables. The game begins with all cards of one set of tables being given out. One pupil begins by reading out the question on their card. All the children in the group have to listen to see if they have the answer on their card. If they do - they read out the answer and then the question on their card for others to listen to. There are a number of variations eg. The group can be timed to see if as a group they can improve the speed in answering all questions. A group of five pupils can be given 2 cards each. Initially children might work in two’s or three’s if they are not confident with numbers in French or multiplication skills. Two support sheets with numbers to 100 and a multiplication grid are also included. All activities have been effectively used within the classroom situation.
